Titanic OceanGate: submersible suffered ‘catastrophic implosion,’ killing 5 in U.S. Coast Guard

The autonomously operated vehicle (ROV) deployed from the Canadian vessel Horizon Arctic found two wreckage fields and a minimum of five main parts of the submarine, including the nose cone and a portion of the pressure hull. Before the rescue mission could begin, it is thought that the Titan collapsed beneath the weight of the deep ocean.
Listening equipment, according to officials, did not pick up any sounds indicative of a “catastrophic failure,” and any noises picked up by a Canadian aircraft earlier were likely unrelated to the missing submarine.
The sonar buoys would have taken up “a significant broadband sound” since “this was a cataclysmic implosion of the vessel,” as Mauger put it. During the span of the next twenty-four hours, we will begin demobilising people and boats from the scene.

The Odyssey 6K, equipped with lights, cameras, and robotic arms, is the first remotely controlled vehicle (ROV) to explore the ocean floor.
